Three Important Reminders

1. Driving after treatment

After your CAR T cell therapy treatment, you won’t be allowed to drive for at least 8 weeks after the infusion. This is a precaution in case of side effects. It can be helpful to make sure you have someone to drive you to and from appointments ahead of your treatment.

2. What to do about side effects

Tell your healthcare team immediately if you notice any change in how you’re feeling or any side effects occur after your infusion.

Your cell therapy team will monitor you for side effects in the weeks following your treatment. It’s also important that you make note of any side effects in ‘Your Treatment Journal’ in the first few weeks after your infusion. You may want to ask someone to help you with this.

Responding quickly to any change in your condition can prevent side effects becoming more serious.

3. Carry your Patient Alert Card

You will have been given a Patient Alert card by your healthcare team. Make sure to carry this with you and show it to any healthcare professionals you see after your treatment.
